ANSWER:-

Given:

A solid iron cylinder has total surface area of 1848m².Its curved surface area is five- sixth of its total surface area.

To find:

The radius & height of the iron cylinder.

Solution:

⚫TSA of cylinder= 1848m²

⚫curved surface area= 5/6 × 1848

 =  >  \frac{5}{6}  \times 1848 \\  \\  =  > 5 \times 308 \\  \\  =  > 1540

So,

2πrh = 1540...........(1)

=) 2πr(h+r) = 1848

=) 2πrh + 2πr² = 1848

=) 1540 + 2πr² = 1848

=) 2πr² = 1848 - 1540

=) 2πr² = 308

=) 2× 3.14 × r² = 308

=) 6.28 × r² = 308

=) r²= 308/6.28

=) r² = 49

=) r= √49

=) r= 7m

Therefore,

Putting the value of r in equation (1), we get;

 =  > 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 7 \times h = 1540 \\  \\  =  >  \frac{44}{7}  \times 7 \times h = 1540 \\  \\  =  > 44 \times h = 1540 \\  \\  =  > h =  \frac{1540}{44}  \\  \\  =  > h = 35m

Hence,

⚫The radius of the iron cylinder is 7m.

⚫The height of the iron cylinder is 35m

Hope it helps ☺️
