Given :

• Dimensions of a solid iron rectangular block = 4.4m, 2.6m and 1m

• Is being casted into a hollow cylindrical pipe of internal radius 30cm and thickness 5cm.

To find :

Length of the pipe

________________________

Volume of iron = (440 × 260 × 100) cm³

Internal radius of the pipe = 30cm

External radius of the pipe = (30 + 5) cm = 35cm

Let the length of the pipe be h cm

________________________

Volume of iron in pipe

= = > (external volume - internal volume)

= = > [π(35)²h - π(30)²h] cm³

= = > πh[(35)² - (30)²] cm³

= = > (325πh) cm³

________________________

Therefore

325πh = 430 × 260 × 100

= = > length = h cm

= = > {(440 × 260 × 100 × 7) / (325 × 22)}

= = > 11200 cm

= = > 112 m

Given that:

Internal radius r=30 cm

Thickness w=5 cm

External radius R=30+5=35 cm

Let the length of pipe be h.

Here,

Here,The volume of cuboid = Volume of a hollow cylinder

440×260×100=π(R 2–r 2 )h

⇒440×260×100=π(35² –30² )h

⇒440×260×100=π(325)h

⇒h=11204

The length of the pipe h=11204 cm=112.04 m
