Given :

  • Height of a solid iron rod = 11 cm
  • Base diameter of the solid iron rod = 7 cm

To find :

  • Total volume of 50 rods

Concept :

To find the volume of 50 rods :-

  • Firstly, calculate the radius of the iron rod.
  • Then find the volume of the iron rod using the formula to calculate volume of cylinder.
  • To find the volume of 50 such rods multiply the volume of 1 iron rod by 50, the resultant value will be our required answer.

➳ Formula to calculate radius :-

  • Radius = Diameter ÷ 2

➳ Formula to calculate volume of cylinder :-

  • Volume of cylinder = πr²h

where,

  • Take π = 22/7
  • r = radius
  • h = height

Solution :

Radius of the iron rod :-

⇒ Radius = Diameter ÷ 2

⇒ Radius = 7 ÷ 2

⇒ Radius = 3.5

Radius of the iron rod = 3.5 cm

Volume of the iron rod :-

⇒ Volume = πr²h

⇒ Volume = 22/7 × (3.5)² × 11

⇒ Volume = 22/7 × 3.5 × 3.5 × 11

⇒ Volume = 22 × 0.5 × 3.5 × 11

⇒ Volume = 423.50

Volume of one iron rod = 423.50 cm³

Volume of 50 iron rods = Volume of one iron rod × 50

⇒ Volume of 50 iron rods = 423.50 × 50

⇒ Volume of 50 iron rods = 21,175

Answer → Volume of 50 iron rods = 21,175 cm³

GIVEN :-

  • Height of cylindrical rod = 11cm
  • Diameter of base of rod = 7 cm

TO FIND :-

  • Total volume of 50 rods.

FORMULAE TO BE USED :-

  • Radius = Diameter/2
  • Volume of cylinder = πr²h

SOLUTION :-

  • Diameter of cylinder = 7cm
  • Radius = D/2 = 7/2

ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎= 3.5cm

Substituting values in formula of volume of cylinder :-

● Volume = πr²h

Volume = 22/7 × (3.5)² × 11

Volume = 22/7 × 12.25 × 11

Volume = 423.5 cm³

Volume of one rod = 423.5 cm³

Volume of 50 rods = 423.5 × 50

ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎ㅤ‎= 21,175 cm³

, volume of 50 rods = 21 ,175 cm³
