A solid is composed of a cylinder with a hemispherical ends. If the whole length of the solid is 100cm and the diameter of the hemispherical ends is 28cm. Find the cost of polishing at the rate of Rs.50 per m2

DATA :-

height of solid = 100cm

diameter of hemisphere=28cm

∴radius of hemisphere =28/2=14cm

ANSWER:-

height of hemisphere = radius of hemisphere =14cm

∴height of 2 hemisphere i.e 1 sphere = 28cm

∴height of cylinder = height of solid -height of sphere{height of 2 hemisphere} = 100-28=72cm

thus , TSA of solid:-

= CSA of cylinder + TSA of sphere

=2\pirh +4\pir^{2}

=2\pir [ h + 2r ]

=2×22/7 ×14[ 72+2(14) ]

=88 [ 100]

=8800cm^{2}

rate of polishing = 5p = 5/100 rs/- per m^{2}

∴cost of plishing 8800cm^{2} = 8800 × 5 / 100 = 440 rs/-
