A solid is in the form of a right circular cone mounted on a
hemisphere. The radius of the hemisphere is 3.5 cm and the
height of the cone is 4 cm the solid is placed in a cylindrical tub
full of water in such away that the whole solid is submerged in
water. If the radius of the cylinder is 5 cm and its height is 10.5cm
Find the volume of water left in the cylindrical tub. (use pi = 22/7)

Answer:

1508.83 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

Vwater=Vcylinder-(Vcone+Vhemisphere)

Vcylinder = 2pi(r)²h

                = 2(22/7)(5)²(10.5)

                = 1650 cm³

Vcone = pi(r)²(h/3)

           = (22/7)(3.5)²(4/3)

           = 51.334 cm³

Vhemisphere = (2/3)pi(r)³

                       = (2/3)(22/7)(3.5)³

                       = 89.834 cm³

Vwater = 1650 cm³ -(51.334 cm³+89.834 cm³)

Vwater = 1508.83 cm³

hope this helps.
