A solid is in the form of a right circular cylinder with a hemisphere at one end and a cone
other end. The radius of common base is 3.5 cm and heights of the cylindrical and conical portions
are 10 cm and 6 cm respectively. The total surface area of the solid is
(1) 356.72 cm
(2) 373.45 cm2
(3) 362.76 cm2
(4) 352.65 cm2
Please explain with figure.

Answer:

373.45

Step-by-step explanation:

Note: here question says radius of their COMMON BASE is 3.5cm so probably height of cone will be equal to the height of cylinderical portion.

So slant height of cone =√(h^2 + r^2)

= √(6^2 + 3.5^2)

= √48.25 = 6.95

total surface area of solid

= area of hemispherical part of solid + CSA of cylinder + CSA of the conical portion of solid

= 2πr^2 + 2πrh + πrl

= 2πr ( r + h) + πrl)

= πr [2(r + h) + l ]

= 22/7 * 3.5 [2(3.5 + 10 )+ 6.95 ]

= 373.45 cm^2 Answer Option(2)
