A solid metal cuboid that measures 8cm by 6cm by 5cm is melted down and recast into a square pyramid of vertical height 20 cm. Calculate, to the nearest whole number, the length of the base of the pyramid.

Volume of the cuboid=8*6*5=240cm3 . Volume of the pyramid=1/3l^2 h . The volume of the cuboid = the volume of the pyramid :- l^2 *20/3=240 . l^2=36 ; therefore l=6cm . the base length = 6cm
