A solid metallic sphere of diameter 28cm is melted and recast into a diameter and height 3cm find number of cones formed

we have,

Radius is of the metallic sphere, R

= 28/2 = 14cm

Radius of the smaller cone, t

= r = 1/2 (4²/³) = 1/2*14/3*7/3 cm

Now,

The number of cones so formed

= volume of a metallic sphere/ volume of smaller cone.

= (4/3πR³) / (1/3πr²h)

= 4R³/r²h

= 4*14*14*14/ 7/3*7/3*3

= 672

so, the number of cones so formed is 672.
