Potential energy = mgh
= 500 g × 10^-3 kg/g × 9.8 m/s^2 × 1.5 m
= 7.35 joules

Kinetic energy = 0.5mv²
= 0.5 × 500 g × 10^-3 kg/g × (100 cm/s × 10^-2 m/cm)^2
= 0.25 joules

Total energy = Potential energy + Kinetic energy
= 7.35 joules + 0.25 joules
= 7.6 joules
