a solid of mass 0.1 Kg is placed on a table how much force must be applied on it so that a velocity of 2 metre per second may be produced in 4 second​

Mass of block = 0.1kg

Initial velocity = zero

Final velocity = 2m/s

Time interval = 4s

We have to find magnitude of applied force.

★ As per newton's second law of motion, force is defined as the rate of change of linear momentum.

  • F = dp/dt

Momentum is measured as the product of mass and velocity.

  • F = m(v - u)/dt

F denotes applied force

m denotes mass

v denotes final velocity

u denotes initial velocity

t denotes time

Calculation :

⭆ F = m(v - u)/dt

⭆ F = 0.1(2 - 0)/4

⭆ F = 0.2/4

F = 0.05N
