Relative density = Weight of solid in air/(Weight of solid in air – Weight of solid in water)

Substituting the values of the known parameters, we get:

2.5 = Weight of solid in air /( Weight of solid in air – 0.120)

=> 2.5(Weight of solid in air – 0.120) = Weight of solid in air

=>2.5 Weight of solid in air – (2.5 * 0.120) = Weight of solid in air

=>2.5 Weight of solid in air – 0.30 = Weight of solid in air

=>2.5 Weight of solid in air – Weight of solid in air = 0.30

=>1.5 Weight of solid in air = 0.30

=> Weight of solid in air = 0.30/1.5

=> Weight of solid in air = 0.2 kg
