Answer:

2/7

Explanation:

=> Linear Kinetic energy of a solid spherical ball is 1/2mv² and rotational Kinetic energy of a ball is 1/2Iω²

But, I = 2/5mr²

∴ rotational K.E. of ball = 1/2( 2/5mr²)ω²

=1/5mv²

=> Thus, total Kinetic energy = Linear K.E. +  rotational K.E.

= 1/2mv² + 1/5mv²

= 5/10 mv² + 2/10 mv²

= 7/10mv².

=> Hence, Ratio of rotational kinetic energy to total kinetic energy is:

=(1/5)mv² / (7/10)mv²

=2/7
