A solid weighs 50 N in air 45 N when immersed in water. Calculate the relative density and density of the solid.

baouncy force = 50-45 = 5 N
weight of water displaced = 5 N
mass of water = 5/10 = 1/2 kg = 500 gm
density of water = 1gm /cm^3
volume of water displaced = m/d = 500/1 = 500 cm^3
volume of solid = 500 cm^3
weight of solid = 50N
mass of solid = 50/10= 5 kg = 5000 gm
density of solid = 5000/500= 10gm /cm ^3
relative density = density of solid / density of water = 10/1 = 10
