Given mass of sodium hydroxide = 12g

Molecular mass of sodium hydroxide = 40g

No. of moles of sodium hydroxide present = 12/40 = 0.3 moles

We know that , volume = mass/density = 12/1.131 ml

So, for 0.3 moles of sodium hydroxide, volume of the solution is 12/1.131 ml.

then for 0.5 moles of sodium hydroxide,

volume of the solution= 17.7 ml.
