A solution that contains a group 4 cation gives ppt on passing hydrogen. A solution of ppt in dilute hydrochloric acid produces a white ppt with sodium hydroxide arrangement due to formation of zinc hydroxide and somewhat blue white ppt with fundamental K4 [ Fe( CN ) 6] due to formation  of zinc ferrocyanide. The cation will be zinc.
