Mass by mass percentage is the the amount of solute present per 100 grams of solvent (water).

12 grams of KCl is present in 130 grams of water.

So, the mass by mass percentage is the amount of KCl present per 100 grams of water.

130 grams of water contain 12 grams of KCl,
Then, 100grams of water will contain,

                                                           = (12 x 100)/130

                                                           = 9.23 grams

∴The mass by mass percentage of KCl is 9.23%
