mass of salt= 40g

mass of the water= 320g

total mass of the solution= mass of solute + mass of solvent =

=40g + 320 g= 360 g

:mass by mass precentage of the solution= mass of the solute *100 /mass of the solution

= 40*100/360

= 11.111% (approx.)

Hey there!

Given,

Mass (solute) = 40 gram

Mass (solvent) = 320 gram

Mass (solution) = Mass (solute) + Mass (solvent)

                        = 40 gram + 320 gram

                        = 360 gram

∴ Mass % (solution) = [ Mass (solute)/Mass (solvent)] × 100

                                = [40/360] × 100

                                = 11.1 %

Hope It Helps You!
