Explanation:

Explanation: mass of acetic acid = 40g. an aqueous solution have mass = 500ml = 500÷1000=0.5. concentration = m/v = 40÷ 0.5=80 gram / liter.

Given: Mass = 40 grams

          Molar mass of acetic acid = 60 grams

           Volume = 500 ml

  • First, we will have to convert the volume to liters.

      500 ml = 500 × 10⁻³ liters

                   = 0.5 liters

  • Now, molarity is no. of moles of solute in 1 liter of solvent.

Molarity = no. of moles / volume( in liters)

no. of moles = mass/ molar mass

                     = 40/60

                      =2/3

Now putting the values in the formula of molarity

Molarity = \frac{2}{3*0.5}

             =4/3

            = 1.33 M

The molarity of the acetic acid solution will be 1.33 M.
