mass of solute = 40 g

mass of solvent = 220 g

mass of solution = mass of solute + mass of solvent

= 40+220

= 260 g

mass by mass percentage = mass of solute /mass of solution x 100

= 40/260 x 100

= 400 /26

= 15.3 g
