A solution contains 40g of common salt in 320g of water. Calculate the concentration in terms of mass by mass percentage of the solution.​

Mass of common Salt (Solute) = 40g

Mass of water (Solvent) = 320g

Mass of the Solution = Mass of the solute + mass of the solvent .

=40+320=360g

Thus, mass by mass percentage of the solution=

 \frac{mass \: of \: the \: solute}{mass \: of \: solution} \times 100 =  \frac{40}{360}  \times 100 = 11.1\%
