Given:-

→Mass of common salt (solute) = 40g

→Mass of water (solvent) = 360g

To find:-

→Concentration of the solution

Solution:-

Here,mass of solute and mass of solvent is given. So firstly, let's calculate the total mass of the solution. It can be calculated as follows:-

Mass of solution:-

Mass of Solute + Mass of solvent

= (40+360)g

= 400g

Hence,total mass of the solution is 400g.

Now--

Concentration of a solution:-

Mass of solute/Mass of solution × 100

=>40/400×100

=>40/4

=>10%

Thus, concentration of the solution is 10%.(w/w)
