A solution contains 40ml of ethanol in 420 ml of water. Calculate the concentration (in terms of volume by voulme percentage ) of the soultion .

given; ethanol = solute = 40ml

water = solvent = 420ml

therefore, total solution =

( 420 + 40 )ml = 460ml.

vol% = volume of solute/ volume of solution.

BY SUBSITUTING ;

40/ 460 = 2/23% (convert it into decimal form if you want to )
