Mass of solute = 50g
mass of solvent = 350g
mass of solution = 50 + 350 = 400g
mass by mass% = mass of solute / mass of solution
mass by mass = 50/400 * 100
= 100/8
= 12.5%
mass by mass % = 12.5%

Therefore the concentration percentage is 12.5%.

I hope it help you

Given:

A solution contains 50 grams of common salt in 350 grams of water.

To find:

We have to find the concentration of solution.

Solution:

To determine the concentration of the solution we have to follow the below steps as follows-

The amount of solute that is common salt is 50 grams.

The amount of solvent that is water is 350 grams.

Thus, the mass of the solution is 350+50=400 grams.

Thus the concentration of the solution is given as-

Concentration= mass of solute/mass of solution×100.

Concentration=50/400×100

Concentration=12.5%.

The concentration of the solution is 12.5%.
