Given:

  • Volume of solute ( alcohol ) = 50 mL

  • Volume of solvent ( water ) = 150 mL

To be calculated:

Calculate the concentration of given solution?

Formula used :

Concentration of solutions = volume of solute/ volume of solution × 100

Solution:

Volume of solution = volume of solute + volume of solvent

= ( 50 + 150 ) mL

= 200 mL

We know that,

Volume of concentration = volume of solute/ volume of solution ×100

★ Putting the values in the above formula, we get

Volume of concentration = 50/200 × 100

= 1/4 × 100

= 100/4

= 25 %

Thus, the concentration of alcohol solution is 25 % .
