A solution contains 60g of NaCl in 400g of water. Calculate the concentration in term of mass by mass percentage of the solution.

The formula for the % calculation:

percentage by mass = mass of solute  x 100% (mass of solute = 60g
                                 mass of solution            mass of solution= 60g+400g=460)

  
% concentration = 60g   x 100%  =  6000    =13.04%
                           460g                    460


percentage concentration = 13.04%
