Given

  • Volume of ethanol = 35 ml.

  • Volume of water = 215 ml.

To Find

Volume percentage of the solution.

Formula

Volume percentage of solution = \dfrac{Volume\:of\:Solute}{Volume\:of\:solution.}\;\times100

Calculations

To find volume percentage of the solution , we need volume of solution.

 V_{Solution}\:=\:V_{Solute}\:+V_{Solvent}

=>  V_{Solution}\:=\:35\:ml\:+\:215\:ml

=>  V_{Solution}\:=250\:ml

Thus, volume percentage of the solution = \dfrac{Volume\:of\:Solute}{Volume\:of\:solution.}\:\times100

=   \dfrac{35 ml}{250 ml}\:\times100

= 14 ℅

Thus, volume percentage of the solution is 14 .
