Answer : Option (D) 24%

Solution :

According to the question :

200g of 30% solution contains solute

=> 200×30/100 = 60g

And, 300g of 20% solution contains solute

=> 300×20/100 = 60g

Total solute = 60g + 60g = 120g

Given that : Total Solution = 200+300 = 500g

Let, percentage of solute in final solution be x% :

500 \times  \frac{x}{100}  = 120 \\  \\  =  > x =  \frac{120 \times 100}{500}  \\  \\  =  > x = 24

So, 24% solute in the final solution.
