mass \: percent \: of \: x = \\ \frac{mass \: of \: x}{mass \: of \: solution} \times 100

 = \frac{5g}{5g \: of \: x + 18g \: of \: water} \times 100

 = 21.74\%

Answer:

Mass percent of solute = 21.739

Explanation:

Mass percent of solute= mass of solute/mass of solutions * 100

Mass percent = 5/5+18*100

=5/23*100=21.739
