A solution is prepared by adding 60 gm of methyl alcohol to 120 gm of water. Calculate the mole fraction of methyl of methyl alcohol in it.​

Mole fraction of methyl alcohol = n(A)

n(A) + n(B)

Mole fraction of methyl alcohol = 1.875

1.875+6.667

Mole fraction of methyl alcohol = 1.875/8.542 = 0.219 or 0.22
