  • Mass of solute = Mass of sugar = 15 grams

  • Mass of solvent = Mass of water = 60 grams

To find :

  • Mass percentage of each component

Mass percentage = Mass of solute/Mass of solution × 100

Mass of solution = 60+15 = 75 grams

Mass percentage of sugar = 15/75×100 = 20 %

Mass of solvent = 75-15 = 60 grams

Mass percentage of water = 60/75×100

Mass percentage of water = 400/5 = 80%

The mass percentage of sugar is equal to 20% and mass percentage of water is 80%
