Given : A solution is prepared by dissolving 18.25 g of NaOH is distilled water to give 200 ml of solution.

To find : Calculate the molarity of the solution.

solution: weight in gram of NaOH = 18.25 g

molecular weight = 40 g/mol

so, no of moles of NaOH = 18.25/40 = 0.45625

volume of solution = 200 ml = 0.2 L

molarity = no of moles of solute/volume of solution in L

= 0.45625/0.2 = 2.28125 mol/L ≈ 2.3 M

Therefore the molarity of the solution is 2.3 M.

Answer:

2.3 M

Explanation:

weight in gram of NaOH = 18.25 g

molecular weight = 40 g/mol

so, no of moles of NaOH = 18.25/40 = 0.45625

volume of solution = 200 ml = 0.2

molarity = no of moles of solute/volume of solution in L

= 0.45625/0.2 = 2.28125 mol/L ≈ 2.3 M
