Given : mass of solute = mass of sugar = 40g

mass of solvent = mass of water = 460 g

To Find : w/w %

Sol : we know that

mass of solution = mass of solute + mass of solvent = 460 + 40 = 500g

     w/w % = (mass of solute/ mass 0f solution) × 100

= (40/500) × 100

= 8 %
