A)
The X substance is calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2
Reaction of calcium hydroxide with carbon dioxide is:---
Ca(OH)2 + CO2 -------> CaCO3 + H2O
Calcium hydroxide + carbon dioxide --> calcium carbonate + water
...............
B) calcium hydroxide is obtained when we add calcium oxide in water
The reaction for this goes like
CaO+ H2O ---> Ca(OH)2 + heat
