HEY MATE, HI!

There is your answer and if you really understood it, then mark me in the brain list please!

(a) Solution of a substance 'X' is used for testing carbon dioxide. Write the equation of the reaction of 'X' with carbon dioxide.
(b) How is obtained ? Write chemical equation.

How can it be calcium hydroxide when it is asked solution if substance x Calcium hydroxide is the solution of calcium oxide therefore the substance x is calcium oxide

1. X=Ca(OH)2-Calcium Hydroxide

equation. = CO2 + Ca(OH)2 =>CaCO3 ( Calcium Carbonate)

2.When CaO is reacted with water then Calcium Hydroxide is formed.

equation= CaO + H2 => Ca(OH)2

3.Substance X is Solution of CaO not CaO because Only CaO solution reacts with CO2 to form Ca(CO)3 i.e. precipitate (white in colour used to determine the presence of CO2)
