A solution of CUSO4 was kept in an iron pot .after a few days, the pot developed some holes in it .how will you account for this?

the solution of CuSO4 reacts with some of the iron in the iron pot. So some iron is reduced. Now there is no way to fill up the gaps of quantity of iron that is reduced. So this happens.

As iron is more reactive than copper so it will displace copper from copper sulphate solution (CuSO4).
Now copper is displaces from CuSO4 and iron is being consumed as holes or in shape of small holes.
CuSO4 + Fe -----> FeSO4 + Cu.
