A solution of hcl in water turns blue litmus red , and conducts electricity , while a solution of same gas in toluene han no effect on litmus and does not conduct electricity. explain .

Because Acids are the substances which contain hydrogen and liberate H+ ions when dissolved in water so that is why acids show their property in water or diluted form.
