Chemical reaction :-

 KCl + AgNO_3 → KNO_3 + AgCl↓

Explanation:-

Double displacement reaction :- The reaction in which the two compounds exchange their ions and one of the substance formed is insoluble in nature I. e, precipitate is known as double displacement reaction.

In above reaction the Sodium chloride and silver nitrate exchange their ions and forms sodium nitrate and silver chloride which is white precipitate.

Precipitate :- The insoluble substance which is formed as a result of double displacement reaction is called precipitate.It is denoted by downward arrow sign (↓).
