A solution of quick lime (A) is painted
on the wall.
After few months, the Paint falls
down as white flakes down on the
ground as the Slaked lime had
reacted with a compound (B) which
is let out during respiration. The
compound (C) which is formed has
the same formula of the marble.
Write the equation between A and B.
Identify A, B and C.

Quicklime is the common name of  Calcium oxide (CaO)

CaO + H₂O → Ca(OH)₂

Solution of Quicklime in water is called Slaked lime Ca(OH)₂ - A

When Slaked lime reacts with CO₂ -B (which is let out during respiration), we get Calcium Carbonate CaCO₃ - C

Ca(OH)₂ + CO₂ → CaCO₃ + H₂O

Hope it helps!

CaO + H2 = Ca(OH)2 --- (1)

Ca(OH)2 + CO2 --> CaCO3 + H20 ( reaction)

(A) = CaO

(B) = CO2

(C) = CaCO3
