The given question is A solution of salt and water contains 5% salt. If 20 liters of water evaporates, salt becomes 15%.

we have to find the quantity of the initial solution.

Initially it is said that salt is 5% which means water is 95% .

They are in ratio

5:95

1:19

if 20 liters of water evaporates the salt becomes 15% which means water is 85%

The ratio is given as

15:85

3:17

comparing initial and final ratio we get 40 litres of solution and the 20 litres water was evaporated

Then add both 40 l and 20 l of solution divide it by 2 we get 30 litres of solution.

Therefore, the final. answer is 30 litres.
