A solution of sodium hydroxide is prepared by dissolving 20.0 g of sodium hydroxide (aon) in distilled water to give 250 ml of a solution. Calculate the molarity of the sodium hydroxide solution.​

Answer:

Total volume= 500+200=700ml

Mass of NaOH in 0.2M solution

⇒0.2=200/100x/40

⇒x=10000.2×200×40

         =1.6g

500ml solution contains 20g

∴ Total mass of NaOH in 700ml solution= 20+1.6=21.6g

∴ Molarity= 700/100021.6/40=0.77M
