If a varies inversely as b, and a = 50 and b = 10, find a when b = 20.

Answer:

Since A varies inversely with B i.e. A = λ/Β , where λ is a constant , therefore by putting A = 2 & B = 10 in A = λ/B , we get λ = 20 ==> A = 20/B, which in turn gives, A = 5 when B = 4 .
