Let son's present age be x
so, his mother present age=2x
son age=x-10
mother age=2x-10
ATQ (ACCORDING TO QUESTION)
2x-10=3(x-10)
2x-10=3x-30
2x-3x=-30+10
-x=-20
x=20 (minus sign will be cancelled)
so, x=20
mother present age=2*20=40years
son present age=20years
I hope it helps.....
