A son’s present age is half the present age of his mother. Ten years ago, the mother was thrice as old as

her son. What are their present ages?​

x-10 = (x/2-10)*3

This gives x = 40, i.e. mother's current age is 40.

Son's current age is 1/2 of 40 = 20.
