(t) time take to receive echo = 8s

(v) speed of sound in water = 1500m/s


distance of object of the object from submarine = 2d


bcoz in sonar the tansmitter firstly emits the sound wave and then sound reflects back to the ship which is received by transmitter so distance travelled will be 2 times that is 2d


v = d/t

v×t=2d

1500×8=2d

120,00/2 =d

6000 m = d


hence distance travelled is 6000 m
