Heya!!

Since, one crest and one trough involves one cycle.

No of crests = 40

No of troughs = 40

Hence, 40 crest and 40 troughs involves 40 wave cycle.

No of wave cycles = 40

Time = 0.4 second

Now,

Frequency = No of wave cycle / time

= 40 / 0.4

= ( 40 * 10 ) / 4

= 400 / 4

= 100 hertz

Therefore, the frequency is 100 hertz.

Hope it helps u.

The frequency of the wave is 100 hertz (Hz).

Additional information:-

  • The number of vibration in a second is called frequency.

  • Its SI unit is Hertz.
