the speed of a wave in a 4 m rope is 3.2 m/s. what is the frequency of the vibration required to produce a standing wave pattern with 1 antinode? 2 antinodes? 4 antinodes? please help!!! i don't understand how to do this

In air, the distance traveled by a sound wave is 140 meters during 400 vibrations. If the frequency of the tuning fork is 500 Hz, find the velocity of sound in air. Here's what I did: Wavelength= 140/400=0.35 So, velocity= 500*0.35= 175 m/s Am I right?

hey friend,

=)frequency of wave(f) =2kHz
= 2000Hz

=) wavelength = 30 cm = 0.3 m

we know that speed if wave :-

=) speed (v) = wavelength × frequency

=). v = 0.3 × 2000

=). v = 600 m/s

now distance travelled =1.2 km

= 1.2 ×1000

= 1200 m

so, time taken(t) = distance/ speed

=). t = 1200/600 = 2 sec

so time taken to travel 1.2 km is 2 second
