A sound wave has a frequency of 2 kHz and wavelength 35 cm. How long will it take to travel 1.5km?

It's Simple........

Formula:

V = Fλ

V = 2 x 35

V = 70

We know that

Time = Distance/Velocity

1.5 x 70 =  105

V = f x "lamda"

V = 2 kHz x 35 cm

   = 2000 Hz x 0.35 m

   = 700 m/s  


and,

V = d/ t

700 m/s    = 1.5 km / t

t = 1500 / 700

  = 2.14 seconds.
