frequency is represented by mew

wavelength is represented by lambda

here

mew = 640hz

distance = 800m

timeperiod = 2.5 sec.

a. speed of sound (V) = distance ÷ timeperiod = 800÷ 2.5 = 320m/s

b.wavelength = speed ÷ mew = 320÷640 = 0.5m

The speed of sound  is 320 m/s and wavelength of sound wave is 0.5 m respectively.

Explanation:

Given that,

Frequency of the sound wave, f = 640 Hz

Distance covered by the wave, d = 800 m

Time, t = 2.5 s

To find,

(a) Speed of sound

(b) Wavelength of sound wave

Solution,

(a) The total distance covered divided by total time taken is called speed of sound. It is given by :

v=\dfrac{d}{t}

v=\dfrac{800\ m}{2.5\ s}

v = 320 m/s

(b) The speed of sound is given by :

v=f\times \lambda

\lambda is the wavelength of sound wave

\lambda=\dfrac{v}{f}

\lambda=\dfrac{320\ m/s}{640\ Hz}

\lambda=0.5\ m

So, the speed of sound  is 320 m/s and wavelength of sound wave is 0.5 m. Hence, this is the required solution.
