number of vibrations produced by sound wave in 3 sec = 1500

we know, frequency is number of vibrations or oscillation in a second .
so, frequency = 1500/3 = 500 Hz

it is given that, distance covered by compression and adjacent refractions be 68cm
e.g., wavelength = 68cm

so, velocity of sound wave = wavelength × frequency
= 500 × 68 = 34000 cm/s or 340 m/s

hence, velocity of sound wave = 340m/s and frequency is 500Hz
