A source is producing 30 waves in 3 seconds. The distance between a crest and the adjacent trough is 5 cm. Find the velocity of the wave?​

Frequency of the wave ν = no. of wave produced /time taken  

   = 30/3 = 10 Hz.

The distance between a crest and the adjacent trough is λ/2,  

λ/2 = 5 cm or   λ=10 cm = 0.1 m

The velocity of the wave v = ν λ = 10 x 0.1 = 1 m/s
